Position Summary
The Service Technician Helper assists the Service Technician with the repair, maintenance, adjustment, and servicing of windows, doors, and related products at residential, commercial, and construction sites. This role supports service operations by preparing materials, handling tools and equipment, maintaining a safe work environment, and ensuring service work is completed efficiently and to company quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist the Service Technician with repairs, adjustments, maintenance, and warranty service of windows, doors, and related products.
- Load, unload, transport, and organize service materials, tools, and equipment safely.
- Prepare job sites and work areas before service work begins.
- Hold, position, and secure materials during repairs and adjustments.
- Assist with measuring, replacing hardware, installing components, sealing, and making adjustments as directed.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of service vehicles, tools, and work areas.
- Remove debris and dispose of waste materials appropriately after completing service work.
- Follow company safety policies and all customer site safety requirements.
- Report damaged products, material shortages, or service issues to the Service Technician.
- Provide professional and courteous customer service while representing the company at customer locations.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support service operations.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent is an asset.
- Previous experience in construction, manufacturing, installation, or service work is preferred but not required.
- Ability to safely use basic hand and power tools.
- Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Reliable, punctual, and dependable.
- Valid driver's license
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs (23 kg) regularly.
- Ability to stand, bend, kneel, climb ladders, and perform physical work for extended periods.
- Comfortable working indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
